Taking Dance to a new level


Debbie Chapman Dancers offers tuition in classical ballet, tap, jazz, commercial, street and musical theatre for students from the age of 3. The school encourages each pupil to achieve their full potential with opportunities to take ofqual-accredited exams and participate in competitive dance competitions and school shows. All examinations are taken under the British Ballet Organisation. 


Do Ballet

It has been twelve years since the introduction of the BBO Ballet & Tap syllabus at the Debbie Chapman Dancers. During those twelve years the course has gone from strength to strength and has seen a 100% pass rate with 99% gaining a distinction or merit.

 The success of this course has been further highlighted with pupils being accepted as BBO scholars, associates of The National Dance Company Wales, Ballet Cymru & The Royal Ballet School, with Georgia Jones graduating from The Royal Ballet School last year.  

Ballet takes place every day (with the exception of a Friday) and is £5 a lesson, paid half termly.

  Do Tap

Pupils can take tap lessons under the BBO syllabus. Examinations can be taken and there are always tap items in our large scale shows. Tap lessons are on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday and are £3.50 a lesson, paid weekly. 






Do Jazz/Commercial

All of our jazz dance lessons focus on jazz technique, musical theatre jazz, commercial and street dance. This is the most popular style at the school and takes place on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Jazz is £4.50 a lesson, paid weekly. 

Do Conditioning

Our conditioning and stretch classes take place on a Monday. These classes focus on flexibility, technique and body conditioning. The stretch class we currently offer is aimed at ages 13+, however, we are so excited to launch our new age 9-12 class this coming September. Stretch is £5 a lesson, paid weekly. 

Do Music Theatre

We have recently introduced the BBO Musical Theatre syllabus in our jazz dance classes. A fun, accessible and engaging syllabus which prepares students for progression into Vocational training in the Musical theatre. The new syllabus will develop technical skills., performance awareness and artistic style in dance as well as introduced speech and singing skills to students. Pupils will be able to take examinations in Musical Theatre.
